New and Improved for its 10th-year running! With just under 3 months until the first official Superfly Sunday on May 10th, 2009.

We're going back to our ASR Motorsports roots by making Superfly a mostly Sport Compact-only Weekly Cruise-in. What's that mean to you? Well it means Trucks (lifted and/or lowered) and Motorcycles (of any kind) need not apply. The rauckus caused by these groups and the headaches they brought forth are no longer worth it. So, if you find yourself behind the wheel of a Honda, Mustang, Maserati, Toyota, Porsche, Nissan, DSM, etc (shall I go on?), then this show is for you. This is
your Superfly Sunday.
Superfly Sunday will once again be graciously hosted by the Spaghetti Warehouse in Downtown Akron. Those with trucks and/or motorcycles will be asked to leave the show, and removed with our backing of the Akron Police Department if necessary. We look forward to Summer and another great Superfly season! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at
augie@330tuning.comSee you in 81 days!
Augie

Now if we can only get rid of the rice.......
There should be a clause in there about no neon lights, obnoxious sound systems, euro lights (front and/or back, unless they came on the car from the factory) or fake hids.

is there a reason why are they called euro lights? for now on they will be called mexi-lights.

here's an email i just replied to..
just a question. why cant mini trucks come to superfly what did we do wrong? when these little hondas, nissans, mustangs, acuras..ect come burn out and street race down the road. what do we do we go there lay out the truck and chill by our truck and walk around and look at everyones cars..
the street bikes and lil durtbikes ok i see why they would not be able to come they ride at 100mph around other cars ok we get that but mini trucks and lifted truck give me a break...
get back to me if u can
thanks
Hey, thanks for the email.
It wasn't that we wanted to ban or disallow anyone from coming to the show. But when the club's committee met and discussed the upcoming season, we talked alot about problems from last year and how we can fix them. We decided to make Superfly Sunday a car cruise-in like it once was; for a couple different reasons. One, we'd be going back to our
roots, making the show what is once was, a 50-100 car weekly show that brought out alot of quality cars. And two, in turn by doing that we would alleviate alot of the problems we encountered last summer and the 4 before it (when we started allowing the groups you reference to attend). But listen, we aren't saying that any one group and everyone in it was a
troublemaker, but the bad seeds outweighed the good by far. You can't blame the messenger on this one. By reducing the number of attendees to the show, we regain the ability to police it and enforce the rules that were always supposed to be adhered to. Do you know how hard it is to have to literally yell at 5-10 people every sunday?, it kills your weekend..trust me!
Riding wheelies on bikes next to show cars, dragging frames through a parking lot (that I'm personally responsible for btw), and stereo sound competitions are not what superfly is about. It never has been, and we've set these new rules to make sure that it never will be. 330Tuning, formerly ASR Motorsports, has been around since 1999, thats 10 years. No other (newer cars) Car Club can say that. Not to sound conceited, but we'd like to think that we know what we're doing.
Point is, you make rules and not everyone is going to like them. In this case it's you and your fellow truckers. And honestly I can understand that. Maybe you can start a weekly truck cruise-in somewhere? I'd be more than willing to lend a hand or give suggestions on where/when, etc.
If you have any other questions, let me know.
Thanks man!

I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision to exclude trucks and bikes, and I'm sure it won't be popular with members or supporters of those groups, but I think for the good of the show it was a necessary decision. Superfly Sunday was originally started as a Sport Compact/Import cruise in, and always has been primarily geared to be that type of event. We never had a problem with other groups be they muscle cars, trucks, bikes, whatever, showing up at the show. Now we have problems arising from many groups, but ultimately those problems have gone up exponentially as the attendance of mini trucks and bikes have gone up exponentially. That said tough choices ultimately have to be made, and Augie is the guy who puts his ass on the line with Spaghetti Warehouse to arrange this show.
If you haven't ever put yourself out there to arrange a show location you really have no room to complain. If those groups want some place to have their own show, they should arrange one. One of the reasons Superfly Sunday "worked" was because most of the people who attended already knew each other from the sport compact scene, so it didn't require much supervision to know that they'd treat the venue and its surrounding area with respect out of their respect for other tuners. With a looser connection I'm sure it's harder to take charge of mini trucks, bikes, etc at the venue, and frankly I'm sure some of the people acting out just think that it's some place to go that doesn't kick people out. Not realizing that Augie and 330 Tuning are putting their name, reputation, etc on the line to host the show with the cooperation of the Spaghetti Warehouse. And frankly Augie and the committee could have easily blamed Spaghetti Warehouse and said "oh they asked us what was going on and who was acting up and told us to just not invite them" rather than taking responsibility and telling people directly who is no longer welcome and why. I would imagine over time that some members of these groups could be welcomed back if they behave responsibly and are willing to work with the club, but ultimately those decisions are up to Augie and the committee to make.

I like that guys email...
Yea they lay out their truck, all over the parking lot shooting up sparks and dragging their roll bars. Then there's the douche in that boosted Dodge? that almost ran me and Augie over at the light b/c we were telling not to street race. He told Augie to fuck off and started nudging the truck forward. Not to mention the constant battering on my ear drums from subwoofers...
Should also mention that anyone racing up and down the street before, during, or after will not be let back in until they've shown us that they can behave themselves.
